Philanthropy

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Phi Mu’s national philanthropic partner since 1986. “To lend to those less fortunate a helping hand.” The first line of Phi Mu’s Creed has been a call to serve others since it was written more than 100 years ago. From our earliest days of supporting a health mobile that delivered health care to women and children in rural areas to supporting toy carts for children in hospitals to our current partnership with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Phi Mu has long been committed to lending a helping hand to those in need.

We are proud to be the only sorority to partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and have an alliance with the National Women’s History Museum. We were also the first sorority to establish a National Philanthropy Day more than 20 years ago. Lending a helping hand is at the heart of who we are as Phi Mus.

Phi Nu's Philanthropy

Phi Mu’s philanthropy is Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. CMNH funds local children's hospitals to provide critical treatments, medical equipment, and child life services. They are a non profit that funds for 170 children’s hospitals across the U.S. and Canada, helping make sure every child receives the best possible care. To support this cause, we host several philanthropy events throughout the year such as our annual Casino Night, Car Wash, and Milkshakes for Miracles! We also participate in the annual Rutgers University Dance Marathon, in support of Embrace Kids Foundation. They work to improve the quality of life for families whose children are facing cancer, sickle cell and other serious health challenges. In 2024, we raised approximately $52,000 for Embrace Kids Foundation and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
